What To Take To University – The Checklist

The final countdown has begun: there are 10 days left until I fly to uni. And, besides feeling nervous and excited at the same time, I also have to prepare for moving far from home… by taking at least half of it with me in my luggage. To make sure that I won’t forget anything important, I’ve made a checklist and, since I’m definitely not the only one going away for uni soon, I’ve decided to share it with you. Here we go:

  • hat
  • scarf
  • T-shirts
  • shirts
  • sweaters
  • gym clothes
  • jacket
  • pajamas
  • hoodie
  • dresses // formal clothes
  • raincoat
  • gloves
  • jeans
  • skirts
  • tights
  • socks
  • bras
  • knickers
  • sneakers
  • boots
  • slippers
  • dress shoes // heels

  • laptop // tablet + charger
  • phone + charger
  • mouse // stylus
  • power bank + charger
  • headphones
  • external hard drive
  • extension cord
  • plug adapters
  • camera + batteries
  • hair dryer
  • epilator

  • passport
  • ID card
  • health card (EHIC)
  • other documents requested by the university (e.g. letters from Student Finance)
  • bank card

  • makeup
  • any learning materials you think you might need
  • pencil case with pencil, pens, highlighters
  • planner
  • medication for colds, stomach ache, vomiting
  • umbrella
  • backpack // handbag
  • small tokens such as family photos, plushies etc
  • money

I hope you’ll find this checklist useful while getting ready to leave for uni. Since I’m going to another country, I’m trying to keep my luggage as light as possible, therefore I’ll buy towels, body care products, bedsheets and kitchen items from the city after my arrival. I haven’t finished my shopping list yet – putting my luggage together is a priority – so any suggestions would be welcomed!
